How is ShetkaStone environmentally friendly?
ShetkaStone products use 100 percent post-consumer and post-industrial recycled fibers, including cardboard, newsprint, and retired U.S. currency. The product’s total recycled content is between 55 and 80 percent, depending on the binding agents used. What can ShetkaStone be used for?
The sky’s the limit! ShetkaStone can be used in all sorts of projects. Common applications include work surfaces, countertops, desks, tables, paneling, and moldings. It’s also been used to make awards, plaques, windowsills, brush handles, soap dishes, welding blocks, and more.
Are seams visible?
Yes. Like wood and many other surfaces, ShetkaStone’s seams may be visible. However, with proper installation, their appearance can be minimized.

Do you need special tools to work with ShetkaStone?
ShetkaStone can be machined using normal woodworking tools.
How is ShetkaStone sealed?
Like wood, ShetkaStone requires a topical sealant; most wood sealants are compatible. We typically use a zero VOC finish that contains no formaldehyde and which is durable and repairable.
